Switchbox
Analogue roots. Hypnotic techno. Unmistakable groove.
Request Switchbox ↗Switchbox grew out of Götz’s passion for analogue equipment and techno. His musical journey began in Germany’s underground scene in the 1990s, moving from early studio experiments to live performances that brought his machines directly onto the dancefloor.
After exploring different genres and production projects, he returned to those techno roots with a renewed focus on studio work. A remix for Frank Beckers and Leif Hatfield, released on D-Nox’s Sprout Music in 2009, marked an early milestone.
In 2013, Maceo Plex picked up his remix for dreamAwaken for Ellum Audio, followed by the original track Pirates Poetry. Further releases have appeared on Open Records, Something Different, Lowbit, Flow, Lowering the Tone and Sprout Music.
His DJ sets bring together hypnotic techno, deep grooves and a playful psychedelic edge. Alongside Switchbox, Götz joined forces with Marcelo, also known as dreamAwaken, to form low&, with releases on Frankey & Sandrino’s Sum Over Histories.
